The opportunity

We are looking for an AI Engineer (3) focused on Data Platforms and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to build and extend the platform capabilities that connect governed data, knowledge, policy, and user-facing workflows.

Working under architect direction, you will contribute across the logic layer, virtual knowledge graph, security and governance services, metadata and catalog services, and interface surfaces.

The role combines hands-on engineering with strong attention to data governance, security, lineage, permissible purpose, and reliable user workflows. You will help turn architectural direction into maintainable platform components and services.

02

What you’ll do

  • Build and enhance services across the platform’s logic layer under established architectural direction.
  • Implement rules and policy execution, including entitlement and permissible-purpose handling.
  • Contribute to the virtual knowledge graph by building objects, links, relationships, and supporting services.
  • Develop security and governance capabilities that enforce access, entitlement, and policy requirements.
  • Build and maintain metadata and catalog services, including catalog population and data lineage.
  • Work with GCP data-platform services to support scalable, governed data processing and platform capabilities.
  • Develop APIs and service integrations that connect platform components and downstream workflows.
  • Contribute to interface surfaces and user-facing workflows that expose governed data and platform capabilities clearly.
  • Support data quality, metadata consistency, lineage visibility, and traceability across platform components.
  • Translate architectural designs and technical requirements into production-ready, testable components.
  • Write unit and integration tests, troubleshoot defects, and improve reliability, observability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with architects, data engineers, AI engineers, security teams, and product stakeholders to deliver platform increments.
  • Document technical decisions, service behavior, data flows, policies, and operational considerations.
03

What we’re looking for

  • Professional experience building data, AI, backend, or platform engineering solutions.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including APIs, data structures, testing, debugging, and version control.
  • Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and cloud-native data-platform concepts.
  • Understanding of data modeling, metadata, catalogs, lineage, and governed data access.
  • Ability to work with rules, policies, entitlements, permissions, and access-control concepts.
  • Experience with relational and/or graph data models and service-oriented application design.
  • Ability to work across backend logic, data services, integrations, and user-facing workflows.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to data correctness and traceability.
  • Ability to work effectively under architect direction while independently owning well-defined engineering components.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills across technical and business stakeholders.
04

Good to have

  • Experience with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Run, or related platform services.
  • Exposure to knowledge graphs, graph databases, ontology modeling, or semantic data platforms.
  • Experience with data catalogs, lineage tooling, metadata management, or data governance frameworks.
  • Exposure to IAM, policy-as-code, authorization services, or security governance patterns.
  • Experience building AI/ML-enabled data products or retrieval and knowledge-oriented workflows.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, logging, and cloud operations.
05

Why this role?

This is an opportunity to work on a modern data-platform architecture where governed data, knowledge, security, and user experience come together.

You will contribute to foundational services that make data discoverable, traceable, permissible, and usable, while working closely with architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams on meaningful platform capabilities.
